October is ADOPT A DOG month.

Adopting a dog from CARE is saving a life.

Make a real difference and adopt a special needs dog. CARE has several extra special dogs waiting for a home. These guys wait the longest, and they often make the most loving companions.

Deaf dogs are easier to train than you might think. Adopt Fiona, Oakley, or Easter and see for yourself! Oakley has even gone through a basic obedience class.

Dogs with missing parts are often overlooked. Skippity the 3-legged Chihuahua gets along as well as any 4-pawed dog. She can run, climb stairs, and jump on the couch by herself - no extra care required.

Black dogs have a hard time finding homes, whether it's because people find them uninteresting or believe that black dogs are aggressive. Indi and Ivy are great dogs who have been waiting for more than a year for a home because of their color.
